This is the blog of a Teenage Liberal in a very RED city. Read the blog, find out about me, who knows, you just might fall in love ;)

This has to be the most insolent piece of trash ever to come from the White House.

Karl Rove, the White House Chief Political Adviser, said last night in Manhattan only a few miles from Ground Zero that liberals didn't get 9/11. We didn't see the attacks as "savage." We didn't want to defeat our enemies. We simply wanted to give Osama and the hijackers "therapy."

How dare he make such remarks? Unfortunatley I was only 11 at the time of 9-11 and I didn't fully understand what was going on. I do remember teachers crying and me and other students being checked-out from school and my parents telling me that "something really, really bad happened."

What I do know though, is that
were not Democrats, Republicans, Independant, Conservative, etc. We were Americans, we were United and we were damn Proud of it!

Now for this White House Idiot to tell us, to tell Americans that Liberals didn't get 9-11, that we didn't care, that we wanted to give Osama a big hug and tuck him in?

I am too angry to write what I really feel right now, for I tend to regret what I say in anger.
But that doesn't mean YOU can't, Contact your Senators and Contact your Congressional Represenative, I know I have, don't let Karl Rove get away with this!

I've had some questions about what are my thoughts on the Downing Street Memo. Well, for the past few days I have been fighting a school district for the right to wear whatever I want, and watching C-SPAN everytime they talk about DSM. I think Congress should start an offical investigation and if, sorry when, they find out that what the Downing Street Memo says is true I want impeachment proceedings against Bush.
Now, WaPo's pissed in my Fruit-Loops before, but the article titled, "Democrats playing Dress-Up" that's when it went too far
!

Basically they call Rep. Conyers attempts at trying to get media att. about DSM and holding a meeting about DSM mediocre. $#@! THEM!

I'm sorry again about cutting this post short. But I'm super busy, hat tip to AMERICAblog and Shake's Sis

...I Hate the Washington Post...

So it's now official, verified by a county medical examiner. Contrary to the hysterics, the lies, and the criminal posturing of right-wing media terrorists like Sean Hannity and Joe Scarborough, Terri Schiavo was, indeed, in a persistent vegetative state. She had massive and irreversible brain damage and was blind, the medical examiner's office said Wednesday. It also found no evidence that she was strangled or otherwise abused. All of which exposes, once again, the hideous mindset of the Political and "Christian" Right in this country, the Republican Party. Their efforts at destroying the efficacy of medicine, doctors and common sense will now move to another city, another state, another sad family tragedy, where these cretins will take up temporary residence and parasitically feed off another human disaster. They are truly disgusting.

The story's in TIME, but I got it from CNN
Citing the logbook, which covers al-Qahtani's interrogations from November 2002 to January 2003, Time reports that daily interviews began at 4 a.m. and sometimes continued until midnight.

The interrogation techniques included refusing al-Qahtani a bathroom break and forcing him to urinate in his pants.

During the period covered by the logbook, Time reported, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld approved 16 additional interrogation techniques for use on certain detainees.

Afterward, interrogators began their sessions with al-Qahtani at midnight and awakened him with dripping water or Christina Aguilera music if he dozed off, the magazine article reported.

The magazine said the techniques approved by Rumsfeld included "standing for prolonged periods, isolation for as long as 30 days, removal of clothing, forced shaving of facial hair" and hanging "pictures of scantily clad women around his neck."
This is awful, anybody knows that listening to Christina Aguilera is dangerous for your health, PERIOD let alone without any sleep...
But seriously, TIME def. brought some more well-deserved attention on Gitmo. Oh, see what Dick (Mr. Go F**k Yourself in-the-flesh) said,

"The president says we review all of our options on a continuous basis," Cheney said. "The important thing here to understand is that the people that are at Guantanamo are bad people."
Yeah bad people are people who kill and terrorize, they deserve to be treated like that...wait a minute, Hey Dick, isn't that what you George and Donald and other War-Loving Trigger-Happy Conservatives did?

Well just incase anyone wanted to know, I personally think MJ is innocent, I've watched the case on E! and no matter the verdict I really do think he's innnocent, it's true there may be something psychologically unstable about him, but look at his life, (other than the rich and famous thing) but what his father did, and just too much for me to explain.

and the jury says... NOT GUILTY!

YES! Well that's a relief, Like I said I always believed he was not guilty, not to toot my own horn or anything. Now maybe we can put this whole thing to rest, innocent on all ten charges

Well the verdict's almost in 2 minutes...I haven't been into it really, and don't know why I'm writing about it...but it's on almost everyone's mind, (Guilty or Not Guilty?) and besides I'm a BlogWhore... I'll let you know what they say...

From the lips of AP....

Howard Dean is "over the top," Vice President Dick Cheney says, calling the Democrats' chairman "not the kind of individual you want to have representing your political party."

"I've never been able to understand his appeal. Maybe his mother loved him, but I've never met anybody who does. He's never won anything, as best I can tell," Cheney said in an interview to be aired Monday on Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes."

"Hey Dick, Dean signed a law to give gay couple civil unions. He respects gay people....unlike your party. So, to quote the current VP: Go F**k Yourself. Oh yeah, and how's your daughter doing? The lesbian one you and your party betrayed?"
^^AMERICAblog said it^^ and I couldn't agree more...

Hmm...yeah, I'm having a hard time seeing why anyone would want to be Republican. It's not enough to terrorize GLBT's and other minorities, now they're going after Sesame Street!

But the loss of $23.4 million in federal funds for children's educational shows — which PBS calls its "Ready to Learn" programs — could mean the elimination of these programs, said an official at Alexandria-based PBS who asked not to be named because the network still hopes to regain the funding. PBS's revenue totaled $333 million in fiscal year 2004.

The Ready to Learn group includes "Sesame Street," "Dragontales," "Clifford" and "Arthur," among others.

This is doing nothing but harming us, the public, and depriving us and our children of quality educational programming! They say believe in family values? Who is this going to hurt (other than the fine folks at PBS) US, THAT'S WHO! They must really be wanting that "all-american, baseball, apple pie" image. First they let Porn Stars go to offical White House Dinners, then they cut funding to quality public television, and now-a-days, where can parents turn to when they don't want to get into the "talk" with their kids other than PBS? Children, parents, and teachers deserve a network that provides safe, high-quality programming!
I'm outraged by two things here, and don't know which one I'm more upset about, the hypocrisy of the Republican party, or that they might get away with it.
And Yet I'm not suprised, I mean Republicans can't run their long term plans if there is a educated well informed public!

When asked, even Oscar the Grouch refused to comment...

Check this out, Me4President2008 has the Democratic questions, and Republican answers!
Gotta Give Some Props on that One!

No that's not the new movie starring Paris Hilton! Attending The 2005 Presidents's Dinner & Salute to Freedom is non-other than Porn Star, Mary Carey. You can read the article by World Net Daily here. Now personally I don't care what people want to do with their lives, (so long as it doesn't infringe on someone's rights, or break the law) the only reason why I'm semi-outraged is because these idiotic Republicans are always talking about "family/moral values" and yet they invite a porn-star! Come on, oh you should read some of her quotes,
I'm especially looking forward to meeting Karl Rove, Smart men like him are so sexy. I know that he's against gay marriage, but I think I can convince him that a little girl-on-girl action now and then isn't so bad!
I just want you to imagine the horrific shrieks of outrage we would have heard if, back in the 1990s, President Clinton spoke to a Democratic congressional fund-raising dinner attended by a porn star!
Like I said, I don't care what people do for a living, but then again, I'm not a right-wing conservative who thinks marriage is restricted to a few individuals, and that abortion is morally wrong, and that stem-cell research holds no promise for cures of diseases, and need I go on?
And now just for Kicks,

Yeah that's what I said! ...oh Jesus, check this out!
Is this how desperate people are to belive in God? Yeah there's malnutrition happening in 50% of the world, wars, AIDS, murder, rape, etc.

Naw, Jesus 'cided to make miracles in my 'tator chips!

Oh, well I can't find it but, has anyone heard about the imprint of the Virgin Mary in a grilled-cheese sandwich? I remember being being in Catholic sunday school, (forgot the legit term) and the teacher showing pictures of clouds and mud that looked like Jesus, and being a curious 11-12 year old asked her, "...if God wants to make miracles, then why doesn't he do things?" Yeah you could hear a pen drop. Basically I was told to just blindly believe what was in front of me, and ask no questions, I'm sorry but that's not me. Later I was escorted out to my parents, where my Dad told me to straighten up, and I kindly told him in my 6th grade way, that I found the concept of God far-fetched and if God wanted to make an impact now maybe he should cure diseases, make peace, end crime, instead of making funny-looking clouds.

Now, please I don't mean to step on any religous toes here, if I have offended any of you in any way,
get over it.

Here's one for all those right wing-nuts who think gay marriage will destroy the "real" marriages, and that embyonic stem-cell research is horrific for the fact that it kills one-cell organisms but think that a bloody conflict in Iraq (which whether you like it or not will continue to take innocent life) is okay, read this...woosah!
Tip of hat to Shake's Sis, "Can you produce one instance of a gay marriage actually undermining the sanctity of a heterosexual marriage, or causing the divorce of a straight couple? And if I could produce evidence that the Iraq War is detrimental to marriage, would you support a Constitutional amendment immediately requiring the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq and banning future preemptive wars the same way you support a Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage?"
The number of active-duty soldiers getting divorced has been rising sharply with deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq.

The trend is severest among officers. Last year, 3,325 Army officers' marriages ended in divorce — up 78% from 2003, the year of the Iraq invasion, and more than 3 1/2 times the number in 2000, before the Afghan operation, Army figures show. For enlisted personnel, the 7,152 divorces last year were 28% more than in 2003 and up 53% from 2000. During that time, the number of soldiers has changed little.

So what now about your whole “protecting the sanctity of marriage and defending the family” thingy? Thanks again for defending those soldier families....and the Iraqi ones, keepin' them in mind too?

Well, for those of you who may not know, I am 15, so technically "no" I can't vote, (and I hate having to go through this with people) but should my voice be worth less than anyone else's?
So anyway, something happened today to back me up on this. I am currently vacationing at my Aunt's house while she is going through a pregnancy without her husband by her side (he's in the military) when I asked her today at the check-out of the local Wal-Mart Supercenter-Jesus they're everywhere!-, "...are you a Replubican, Democrat, or a Third-Party?" She looked at me and said, "I dunno...hand me the milk."
I was flabbergasted! I asked her, "surley you voted last election?" She laughed, "well do you have your voter's registration card?" She did, and I saw her political party...Republican! But anyway, point is, why are those of us who are of younger age who pay attention to politics (I watch C-SPAN religously) thrown aside and that "told to leave that "fancy-political stuff" to the good ol' boys?
This is ridiculous, I mean I'd expect this from Replublicans, but I've had liberal-comin-out-their-ears people tell me, maybe you should leave this political bickering to us adults and go out and have fun! Isn't that a little conservative? Isn't that what women had to go through not even a century ago? And also, do they assume I don't have fun bickering about politics? If I hated this, then I wouldn't be doing this would I?
I mean my mom never even heard of the electoral college until I informed her while she was stumped watching CNN with me.
So, Question :
What do you think about students involved with politics?
Should Minors be taken seriously?

Attention BBA and such, it appears that we are catching the eye of the media, if anyone is up right now, 1:13 am, (I have a problem...) go to KGO's site, they are a left-leaning radio program that you can hear FREE online, I tune in all the time I suggest you do too.

Hmm, this is too funny!

The scenario: you (a Republican loser) are running for office in a blue state, (New Jersey) and no one likes you, you have no fans or followers. What do you do?

Solution: you take a pic from another campaign (A very popular Democrat, one who has followers and people in the background) and twirk it so it appears that some people actually like you and someone other than your mother (if she even is) supports you!

And Viola! You know how to campaign the GOP way!

Okay, okay, incase you have no idea what the above is about, don't worry, Ricky's here to fell ya in! The remarkable Howard Dean's pic, aka the original is below,

And here's Bret Schundler's campaign picture, as seen on his website,

Notice anything... familiar... about that picture?

If you guessed, "Wait a second, it's just a picture of Bret Schundler badly Photoshopped onto a crowd of Howard Dean's supporters," then you'd be absolutely correct. L
What's even funnier is, the person who did this forgot about Mr. Dean's thumb,

Bret Schundler...enough said...

AP has the story, but you can read it here

Nine Army linguists, including six trained to speak Arabic, have been dismissed from the military because they are gay.
The soldiers' dismissals come at a time when the military is facing a critical shortage of translators and interpreters for the war on terrorism.
Seven of the soldiers were discharged after telling superiors they are gay, and the two others got in trouble when they were caught together after curfew, said Steve Ralls, spokesman for the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, a group that defends homosexuals in the military.

Umm...okay, I am almost speechless (heavy on the almost) but isn't the whole "don't ask don't tell" policy just ridiculous anyway? Why should it be legal for the army to fire on the grounds of homosexuality? Im going to tip my hat to Shake's Sis and quote her,
"You know, maybe the Army shouldn’t have canned a bunch of linguists for being gay. Just a thought. I know it’s a kind of radical notion that our national security is more important than institutionalized discrimination against fags, but maybe we should give it a try for a while and see how things work out."

Oh, man, via Shakespeare's Sister and The Heretik, check this out there were prisoners at Gitmo that were sold into capture

The U.S. Rewards for Justice program pays only for information that leads to the capture of suspected terrorists identified by name, said Steve Pike, a State Department spokesman. Some $57 million has been paid under the program, according to its Web site.

It offers rewards up to $25 million for information leading to the capture of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

But a wide variety of detainees at the U.S. lockup at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, alleged they were sold into capture. Their names and other identifying information were blacked out in the transcripts from the tribunals, which were held to determine whether prisoners were correctly classified as enemy combatants.

One detainee who said he was an Afghan refugee in Pakistan accused the country's intelligence service of trumping up evidence against him to get bounty money from the U.S.

"When I was in jail, they said I needed to pay them money and if I didn't pay them, they'd make up wrong accusations about me and sell me to the Americans and I'd definitely go to Cuba," he told the tribunal. "After that I was held for two months and 20 days in their detention, so they could make wrong accusations about me and my (censored), so they could sell us to you."

Another prisoner said he was on his way to Germany in 2001 when he was captured and sold for "a briefcase full of money" then flown to Afghanistan before being sent to Guantanamo.

"It's obvious. They knew Americans were looking for Arabs, so they captured Arabs and sold them — just like someone catches a fish and sells it," he said. The detainee said he was seized by "mafia" operatives somewhere in Europe and sold to Americans because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time — an Arab in a foreign country.

A detainee who said he was a Saudi businessman claimed, "The Pakistani police sold me for money to the Americans."

Well if you side with the President and think taking the word of prisoners who hate America is "absurd" you're feeling rather dubious right now, well stay-tuned there's more-

In March 2002, the AP reported that Afghan intelligence offered rewards for the capture of al-Qaida fighters — the day after a five-hour meeting with U.S. Special Forces. Intelligence officers refused to say if the two events were linked and if the United States was paying the offered reward of 150 million Afghanis, then equivalent to $4,000 a head.

That day, leaflets and loudspeaker announcements promised "the big prize" to those who turned in al-Qaida fighters.

Said one leaflet: "You can receive millions of dollars. ... This is enough to take care of your family, your village, your tribe for the rest of your life — pay for livestock and doctors and school books and housing for all your people."

Helicopters broadcast similar announcements over the Afghan mountains, enticing people to "Hand over the Arabs and feed your families for a lifetime," said Najeeb al-Nauimi, a former Qatar justice minister and leader of a group of Arab lawyers representing nearly 100 detainees.

Oh friends, what's happened to USA? Are we now what we have despised in the past?
Well, I'll quote Heretik, "I expect Bush or Cheney tomorrow to discount this story. These unfortunate people who were sold by bounty hunters to U.S. forces will be discounted as people who hate freedom and hate America. Our leaders will say that with a straight face, without irony. Cheney and Bush will be right in one sense. If these unfortunate souls didn't hate America before, they will have plenty of reason to hate us now."
Too True, Too True...
